CEC requests no board report in response to impasse in negotiations with part-time support staff

The College Employer Council today requested that the Ontario Ministry of Labour issue a no board report, following more than 16 months of unsuccessful negotiations with the bargaining team representing part-time support staff. This request for a no board report has been deemed necessary to break the impasse in negotiations.

Statement on Part-time Academic union certification

The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB), on April 14, 2025, officially confirmed and approved the establishment of a union for part-time and sessional professors, instructors, counsellors and librarians at all 24 Ontario public colleges.
